24 August 2015...Ready to Head to Cali

Hi mom and dad and everyone else!

So I will be heading to Cali tomorrow afternoon! The high on Thursday is 105!! SCORCHING! But I'm excited! I just wanted to let you know! I am allowed to call tomorrow so I will at the airport! I'm so ready to be out of the MTC but it has been a very great experience being here! Thank you for all your help! I am able to feel the Spirit so strongly here! I've been able to love people that I never would've thought I'd be able to because of our differences and that has been a true blessing!

Learning how to completely forget about myself and think only of others has been and will continue to be a long road, but I know that it is what the point  of missionary work is. We represent Jesus Christ. We're not here to just baptize people like numbers, we're here to help and serve people who need help. We are basically walking around handing out $100 bills to people for free. Jesus Christ had the most pure form of unselfish love that there ever was, and that's what we are trying to learn to do as well.

It's easy to feel inadequate or discouraged in this pure and holy work, especially since not only do we have our names on our name tags, but also Jesus Christ's. Talk about big shoes to fill! But it is comforting that He trusts us with his work.

This is the most tiring yet rewarding work I've ever been a part of. We really do just eat, breathe, talk and sleep in a world that revolves around helping others and in an unselfish manner. I don't know how I was lucky enough to be a part of this, but I sure am thankful to be here! We have the best boss there is!

I ask you all if this week you will try to learn to love someone that you have every reason not to like! I promise you that you'll be so thankful you did! I'd love to hear your experiences about it!

Love you all! (Pictures next week probably!) Nope they got here today!
